Footlights Community Theater was founded in 2004 by Kristi Condrey and Beth Coughlin, a mother daughter team who decided that the Athens Limestone area needed a community theater that included people of all ages and backgrounds.
Just before that time the local arts council had disbanded and there were little to no opportunities for talented young actors/actresses.
The first production of "The Pied Piper" opened in July 2004 and was a big success! Since then Footlights has produced "Lottie", Dumb Luck, Oliver!, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, The King and I, The Little Match Girl, Fiddler on the Roof and has hosted two drama workshops including Play Time! and Story Time!
Each season we'll open a survey so that the general public can give us show suggestions. Look for one coming soon.
